GOVERNOR PROVIDES UPDATE ON COVID-19 VACCINATION EFFORTS

On Friday, Governor Kate Brown provided an update on COVID-19 vaccination efforts.

Brown said the Oregon Health Authority is working with health care providers, pharmacies and local public health partners to make steady progress toward achieving the goal of administering 12,000 vaccines per day. Brown has activated the Oregon National Guard to help support vaccination events. Members of the Guard are expected to begin offering assistance on Tuesday.

Brown said while the state’s COVID-19 health metrics for returning to in-person instruction became advisory, all Oregon schools are still required to adhere to health and safety measures in order to open to any in-person instruction. Brown said schools must continue to work in close consultation with their local public health authority.
