A Flood Potential Outlook has been issued for rivers and streams in western Douglas County and surrounding areas.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said a front will move in Monday night, then will stall over the area through Tuesday night. The front will then weaken in place Wednesday. Forecasters said this will bring a prolonged period of moderate to heavy rain to the area. Small streams and creeks will see rapid rises during the event. Main stem rivers will see significant rises as well.
The Flood Potential Outlook also includes western Josephine County, and eastern Curry and Coos counties.
Widespread flooding is not anticipated, but some smaller streams may have minor flooding in some locations. Recently burned areas may have some flooding and debris flows with this event.
