COVID-19 CLAIMS 28 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 1,603 AS OF SATURDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 28 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 1,603, as of Saturday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 1,643 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 124,490. The new cases include:

*121 in Jackson County

*106 in Marion County

*101 in Lane County

*91 in Umatilla County

*80 in Deschutes County

*56 in Yamhill County

*54 in Josephine County

*49 in Linn County

*37 in Benton County

*35 in Klamath County

*25 in Columbia County

*23 in Malheur County

*20 in Douglas County

*18 in Crook County

*17 in Wasco County

*15 in Union County

*14 in Morrow County

*13 in Lincoln County

*12 each in Coos and Hood River counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 68 to 100.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 421, which is 30 fewer than on Friday. There are 81 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 7 fewer than on Friday.

On Friday, OHA recorded 13,448 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations. Of that total, 8,768 vaccine doses were administered and 4,680 were administered on previous days but had not yet been entered into the state registry. As of Friday, 34 percent of Oregon’s current allocation of vaccine doses had been administered. Oregon’s cumulative total is now 88,362 first and second doses administ
