Adapt has received funding to support and expand the delivery of mental health treatment services to Douglas County residents.

A release said for many people, the coronavirus pandemic can be unsettling and stressful. For those with existing mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other forms of mental illness, the effects can be more far-reaching. That can make many symptoms infinitely worse. The release said Cambia Health Solutions and its regional health plans across Oregon and three other states, are making philanthropic donations totaling more than $11.5 million to help meet the mental and behavioral health needs intensified by COVID-19 in local rural communities.

Adapt, a provider of integrated primary care, substance use treatment and mental health care in southern Oregon, has been allocated $50,000 of those funds. The opportunity will increase access to 24/7 support to people in crisis or emotional distress, expand Adapt’s ability to meet current and emerging patient needs, and support work to reduce the stigma and other barriers that might prevent people from seeking care.

Adapt CEO Greg Brigham said the organization is grateful for the support from Cambia.
