COVID-19 CLAIMS 8 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 1,558 AS OF WEDNESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 8 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 1,558 as of Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 764 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 120, 223. The new cases include:

*134 in Marion County

*114 in Multnomah County

*79 in Clackamas County

*50 in Umatilla County

*49 in Lane County

*44 each in Jackson and Yamhill counties

*31 in Klamath County

*27 in Washington County

*19 in Linn County

*17 in Malheur County

*15 in Clatsop County

*14 in Polk County

*13 in Coos County

*12 in Jefferson County

*11 each in Baker and Josephine counties

*10 each in Douglas and Deschutes counties

*8 each in Benton and Columbia counties

*7 in Wasco County

*6 in Hood River County

*5 in Lake County

*4 each in Crook, Tillamook and Union counties

*3 in Lincoln County

*2 each in Gilliam, Harney and Morrow counties

*1 each in Curry, Grant and Sherman counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 53 to 95. 2 each lived in Multnomah and Josephine counties. 1 each lived in Douglas, Jackson, Multnomah and Crook counties.

OHA reported the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon, is 480, which is 14 fewer than on Tuesday. There are 120 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 13 fewer than on Tuesday.

OHA recorded 6,432 doses of vaccine administered – including 595 second doses – raising the state’s total number of doses administered to 61,671. That figure is based on preliminary reports of 2,818 doses administered on Tuesday, as well as 3,614 administered on prior days that had not yet been recorded.
