WOMAN CITED FOR DUCK POND INCIDENT

A Roseburg woman was cited following at incident at the Stewart Park Duck Pond on Saturday.

A report from Roseburg Police said at just after 8:30 a.m. officers responded to a report that a vehicle was stuck in the mud near one of the ponds. The report said the 31-year old allegedly drove down the bike path and then up a nature trail onto a part of the pond that is normally an island. She drove down an embankment and nearly into the water when her sedan got stuck. The report said the suspect tried to drive back and forth to get out, but only got stuck further. The vehicle was impounded and towed away.

The woman was cited for second degree criminal mischief, and for violation of park rules. She was released after the citation was issued.
