COUNTY PUBLIC OFFICIALS SWORN IN ON MONDAY

Recently elected or re-elected Douglas County officials were sworn in on Monday.

The Board of Commissioners hosted the ceremony for District Attorney Rick Wesenberg, Clerk Daniel Loomis, Sheriff John Hanlin and new Treasurer Sam Lee. The event took place at staggered intervals in order to accommodate social distancing and was held at the courthouse.

Wesenberg was elected to his fourth term in office in November. He was appointed to the post in 2008 and was first elected later that year. Loomis was elected to a second term as clerk after serving a 15-month appointment to the office. Hanlin was elected to his fourth term in November. He was first elected in 2008. Lee was recently elected to his first term.
