Small stream and creek flooding are possible this week for Douglas County and nearby areas.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service have issued a Flood Potential Outlook for significant rises on main stem rivers as well. A statement from forecasters said this will also include Coos and Curry counties.

The statement said a front is expected to stall in the area Monday, bringing a prolonged period of moderate rain through Monday evening. Small streams and creeks will see rapid rises during this event. Main stem rivers will see significant rises as well.

Forecasters said at this time, widespread flooding is not anticipated but some small streams may have minor flooding in places.

Another front is expected to bring more rainfall Tuesday night through Wednesday evening. Rivers and creeks will remain elevated through most of this week.

Watches and warnings may be issued by the Weather Service if the situation worsens.
