A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning for mountain areas in the region.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said snow and blowing snow is expected. Additional snowfall of up to 3 inches overnight will result in total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches. Southwest winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts up to 35 miles per hour are expected.
The Advisory area includes the south central and southern Oregon Cascades including Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, Chemult, and Crescent.
Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions and reduced visibility due to blowing and drifting snow. Gusty winds will bring down tree branches.
