A Portland woman was jailed following an alleged disturbance on Saturday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 9:20 p.m. a report came in that the woman was out of control at a residence in the 100 block of Rosewood Drive in Melrose.

The report said residents attempted to physically restrain 25-year old Hannah Hinkle.

A deputy arrived and attempted to detain the suspect, who fled into a bedroom with two young children. The report said the deputy struggled briefly to detain Hinkle, who actively attempted to remain free. The woman was eventually placed into handcuffs.

Hinkle was believed to be under the influence of some intoxicant. She was charged with harassment, resisting arrest, and for interfering with a police officer. She was released from custody on Monday.
