WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR MOUNTAIN AREAS

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for mountain areas in the region from 1:00 p.m. Wednesday through 7:00 a.m. Thursday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said 6 to 12 inches of snow is expected in the south-central Oregon Cascades. 2 to 6 inches of snow is forecast east of the Cascades. Winds are expected to gust as high as 55 miles per hour in exposed locations.

The Advisory area includes Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, Chemult and Crescent. Roadways include 138, 230, 62 and 97.

Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
