WIND ADVISORY FOR CENTRAL DOUGLAS COUNTY ON FRIDAY

A Wind Advisory is in effect for central Douglas County and nearby areas through Friday evening at 10:00 a.m.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said southwest winds of 20 to 30 miles with gusts up to 45 miles per hour are expected.

The Advisory area includes portions of Interstate Five from south of Tri-City to Azalea, and mainly areas above the valley floors in the region. It includes the eastern Douglas County foothills, Josephine County and eastern Curry County.

Forecasters said gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. While winds will generally eaffect mid and upper elevations, these stronger gusty winds could mix into some of the lower valleys between 1:00 p.m. Friday into the evening.

Drivers should use extra caution, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle.
