A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the southern Oregon Cascades including Crater Lake from 10:00 a.m. Friday to 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said snow is expected above 4,500 feet. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are forecast. Winds will gust as high as 50 miles per hour over exposed terrain. This includes highways 138, 230, and 62.

Forecasters said holiday travel will be difficult. Travelers on Interstate Five should expect 2 to 5 inches of snow on the Siskiyou summit.
