A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the south-central Oregon Cascades, including Crater Lake and Diamond Lake beginning Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said snow and gusty winds are expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 8 inches are forecast. Winds will be gusting as high as 45 miles per hour. The Advisory area includes portions of highways 62, 230, 138 and 58.

Roads are expected to become slick and driving may become difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

The Advisory will be in place until 2:00 a.m. Tuesday.
