On Wednesday, the Oregon Health Authority reported the second highest daily state death count for COVID-19, since the pandemic began.
48 more deaths were announced, raising the state’s death toll to 1,262. 1,562 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 were announced, bringing the state total to 97,622.
OHA said Wednesday’s death reporting, coupled with Tuesdays, represents the highest two-day COVID-19 associated death toll, since the beginning of the pandemic in Oregon.

*166 in Clackamas County
*148 in Washington County
*105 in Lane County
*64 in Jackson County
*51 in Linn County
*50 in Deschutes County
*34 in Umatilla County
*33 in Yamhill County
*31 in Benton County
*30 in Polk County
*29 each in Jefferson and Josephine counties
*20 in Klamath County
*16 each in Douglas, Hood River and Malheur counties
*12 in Tillamook County
*11 in Coos County
*9 in Union County
*7 each in Baker and Clatsop counties
*5 each in Columbia and Lincoln counties
*4 each in Crook, Harney and Wasco counties
*3 in Curry County
*2 each in Gilliam, Lake and Sherman counties
*1 in Wallowa County
The newest deaths ranged in age from 30 to 95.
