While it was snow in the mountains, the Umpqua Valley saw plenty of rain on Wednesday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 1240 KQEN that the Roseburg Regional Airport received .83 inches of rain in the 24-hour period ending at 12:00 a.m. Thursday. Some rain gauges that report data to the Weather Service saw more precipitation. Just over 1.25 inches of rain was reported six miles west of Roseburg. Numerous vehicle accidents took place during heavy showers as there was standing water on Interstate Five and other roads in the area.

A gauge in the coast range in Coos County recorded 1.6 inches of rain while a gauge in the Brookings area received 2.3 inches of rain.

Rain is expected through Monday in central Douglas County.
