December 15, 2020 3:55 a.m.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect above 5,000 feet from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday to 4:00 a.m. Thursday for Crater Lake and the Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches are expected, with up to 12 inches of snow above 6,000 feet. Winds are forecast to gust between 40 and 50 miles per hour over exposed terrain.

The Advisory area will include portions of highways 62 and 138 near Crater Lake.

Forecasters said drivers should plan on slippery road conditions. Gusty winds and wet snow could bring down tree branches.
