MAN JAILED IN RECKLESS BURNING INCIDENT

A Coos Bay man was jailed in a reckless burning incident on Tuesday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 2:00 p.m. 62-year old William Ball was along Interstate Five between Riddle and Tri City. He was allegedly intoxicated and smoking marijuana. The man reportedly lit a tree on fire, causing it to go up in flames and generating a lot of calls.

Charges include reckless burning, reckless endangering, and second degree counts of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. Bail was set at $21,250.
