2 MORE DEATHS, 5 MORE POSITIVE TEST RESULTS FOR COVID-19 IN DOUGLAS COUNTY

2 more people have died from COVID-19 in Douglas County and 5 more people have received positive test results, as of Wednesday.

County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said the 35th death was a 64-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID on November 24th, admitted to the hospital on November 30th, and passed away on Tuesday. The 36th death was a 78-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID on November 25th, admitted to the hospital on December 6th, and passed away Wednesday morning.

An update from the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team said the total number of cases is now at 1,227. Of those, 1,150 are people that have received positive test results and 77 are presumptive. 13 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are being hospitalized, 12 locally and 1 outside the area. 160 people are in isolation. 569 people are in quarantine. That means the staff with the Douglas Public Health Network are supporting 718 people that are either in isolation or quarantine. That is an increase of 267 people since Tuesday, due to the quarantine of students and staff from Brockway Elementary School in Winston.

The next drive through testing clinic with DPHN is Friday in Roseburg.
