MAN CITED AFTER TRASH CAN FIRE

A Roseburg man was cited after a trash can fire early Wednesday.

Information from Roseburg Police said at about 2:30 a.m. security staff at Mercy Medical Center on Stewart Parkway said the 20-year old had started the fire outside the entrance to the Emergency Room.

The report said an officer arrived on the scene and the suspect immediately put up his fists as if he wanted to fight. After an attempt to reason with the man, he allegedly charged the officer, but was unsuccessful at striking him. He was quickly taken into custody.

Charges included second degree disorderly conduct and reckless burning. He was released after the citation was issued.
