A fundraiser for the Fish Food Pantry is continuing this month.

Coastal Farm & Ranch’s annual fundraiser was more successful in November that in any previous year. Fish Board President Nis Jessen said the most exciting part was that over $2,000 in first-time donations from brand-new donors and organizations that are new to supporting FISH, came in.

Coastal had offered to match up to $1,000 in donations in November and the promotion was widely promoted on Brooke Communications radio stations. Coastal owner Buzz Wheeler said their goal is that not a single person goes hungry in any community that Coastal serves,

A release said because of November’s great success, Coastal, Fish and Brooke have agreed to extend the fundraiser through December with an additional $1,000 in funding. In total the group hopes to raise $6,000 for Fish between the two months.

Residents can make a donation by going to www.fishofroseburg.org, or at the Coastal store on Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard. Donations can also be mailed to Fish at PO Box 1162 in Roseburg, 97470.

Fish Board Vice-President Penny Reed talked about the fundraiser and the organization, on the Morning Conversation Friday on News Radio 1240 KQEN.
