DENSE FOG ADVISORY/AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY IN PLACE

December 3, 2020 4:00 a.m.

A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through 9:00 a.m. Thursday with an Air Stagnation Advisory remaining in place through 12:00 p.m. on Saturday for central Douglas County.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said visibility is one quarter of a mile or less in the dense fog, causing hazardous driving conditions.

Air stagnation is likely to result in diminishing air quality, especially in and near locations  with significant areas of air pollution. This is likely to cause health issues for people with respiratory problems if precautions are not taken. N95 masks are effective at filtering out the majority of harmful air particulates.

State air quality agencies highly recommend that no outdoor burning occur and that residential burning devices be limited as much as possible.
