AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY

December 2, 2020 4:30 a.m.

An Air Stagnation Advisory remains in effect through 12:00 p.m. on Saturday for central Douglas County and surrounding areas.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said air stagnation is likely to result in diminishing air quality, especially in and near areas with significant sources of air pollution.

Forecasters said people with respiratory illnesses should follow their physician’s advice for dealing with diminished air quality. N95 masks are effective at filtering out the majority of harmful air particulates.

State air quality agencies highly recommend that no outdoor burning occur and that residential wood burning devices be limited as much as possible.

The Advisory area includes Josephine and Jackson counties and eastern Curry County.
