A Roseburg woman was jailed after a freeway incident on Friday.

A report from Oregon State Police said just after 10:30 a.m. a trooper headed to another call, observed a suspect vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate Five near the South Umpqua River. The report said the trooper turned around at the fairgrounds exit and located the vehicle which was still traveling the wrong way on the shoulder of the freeway at approximately 35 miles per hour.

When the trooper initiated a traffic stop, the 59-year old female driver quickly exited the vehicle and starting running up the hillside. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and her probation officer had her detained. Charges included reckless driving and for a probation violation. The suspect was held without bail.
