Two people were jailed following an incident in Canyonville early Sunday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just after 2:00 a.m. the man and woman were contacted in front of Dollar General on North Main. The report said the deputy knew the woman had a warrant for her arrest, but she refused to come talk with him.

When told she was under arrest, the woman allegedly started to walk away. The report said the man got between them and tried to distract the deputy as the woman ran across the road. Deputies caught up with the woman up the street but the man reportedly shoulder checked the deputy as he was running past him.

The report said the woman kept pulling away from deputies but was eventually taken to the ground. Even after being placed in handcuffs she kept trying to get away.

31-year old Brenton Reedy was charged with interfering with police, harassment and for hindering prosecution. Bail was set at $61,000. 22-year old Arin Pickett was held for escaping police, resisting arrest and for two warrants. Her bail was $22,500.
