HIGHEST DAILY STATE CASE COUNT FOR COVID-19 REPORTED SATURDAY

On Saturday, the Oregon Health Authority reported the highest daily state case count for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

1,669 new confirmed and presumptive cases were announced along with 11 new deaths. That raises the state’s death toll to 896 and brings the state case total to 72,506.

The new cases include:

*701 in Multnomah County

*164 each in Washington and Clackamas counties

*124 in Jackson County

*84 in Klamath County

*70 in Marion County

*64 in Deschutes County

*49 in Lane County

*48 in Yamhill County

*45 in Polk County

*24 in Umatilla County

*17 in Benton County

*13 in Josephine County

*11 in Columbia County

*10 in Douglas County

*9 in Linn County

*8 each in Clatsop, Malheur and Union counties

*7 in Lake County

*6 each in Baker County

*5 in Wasco County

*4 in Curry County

*3 each in Coos, Harney, Lincoln, Morrow and Tillamook counties

*2 each in Crook and Hood River counties

*1 in Gilliam County

The new deaths ranged in age from 56 to 102. 2 each lived in Multnomah, Marion and Jackson counties. 1 each lived in Douglas, Lane, Union, Coos and Deschutes counties.

OHA said the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients across Oregon, increased to 529, 8 more than on Friday. There are 106 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, 9 fewer than on Friday.
