A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. through Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. for Crater Lake, Diamond Lake and areas in the southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said periods of moderate snow are expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are forecast with winds gusting between 30 and 40 miles per hour in exposed terrain.

Forecasters said difficult travel conditions are expected due to slippery roads and periods of reduced visibility because of blowing snow. Drivers should allow extra time to reach their destination, and should carry tire chains.
