A Myrtle Creek woman was arrested and charged with first degree arson stemming from a structure fire in Green on Saturday.

Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 1:15 a.m. dispatchers received a report of a fire in the 1000 block of Castle Avenue in Green. O’Dell said evidence recovered at the scene indicted the fire had been started as a result of arson. 31-year old Stephanie Collins was identified but was unable to be immediately located.

Saturday afternoon at about 4:00 p.m. Collins was located at a residence in the Myrtle Creek area. She was taken into custody without incident.

Collins was released on Monday.
