AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT

November 21,2020 8:00 a.m.

An Air Stagnation Advisory remains in effect until 1:00 p.m. Sunday for central Douglas County and a wide area of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said high pressure will build into the area resulting in light winds, a strong inversion and limited mixing. These conditions are expected to persist through Sunday morning leading to the potential for diminishing air quality, especially in areas with significant sources of air pollution.

Forecasters said this is likely to cause health issues for people with respiratory problems if precautions are not taken.

State air quality agencies recommend that no outdoor burning occur and that residential wood burning devices be limited as much as possible.
