While the External Outreach Site at the old Glide Middle School has closed, staff with the Federal Emergency Management Agency are still helping Douglas County residents impacted by the recent fires.
A release said 80 individuals and households have been approved for nearly $544,000 in federal grants through FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program. $381,000 in U.S. Small Business Administration low-interest disaster loans have been approved for 5 homeowners and renters as of November 13th.
Over $406,000 in grants have been approved for housing repairs or replacement for 59 homeowners. Over $139,000 in grants have been approved for personal property, transportation and other disaster-related serious needs for 64 applicants.
FEMA staff has also had 12 Speaker’s Bureau events, where they provided information regarding FEMA programs throughout disaster-affected communities. Through Disaster Survivor Assistance field outreach, 80 survivors were referred to disaster resources and recovery partners for needs beyond what FEMA can do, as of November 9th.
