On Thursday, the Oregon Health Authority reported the highest daily number of COVID-19 cases, and the highest number of deaths, since the beginning of the pandemic.
OHA Director Patrick Allen said the number of hospitalizations and deaths are only likely to go up.
1225 new confirmed and positive cases of COVID-19 were announced, along with 20 more deaths. That raises the state’s death toll to 808 and brings the states case total to 60,873.
The new cases include:
*376 in Multnomah County
*130 in Lane County
*127 in Washington County
*121 in Clackamas County
*89 in Jackson County
*84 in Marion County
*36 in Yamhill County
*31 in Deschutes County
*21 each in Douglas and Malheur counties
*20 each in Klamath, Polk and Umatilla counties
*16 in Benton County
*14 in Columbia County
*13 in Josephine County
*11 in Linn County
*10 in Jefferson County
*8 each in Hood River, Union and Wasco counties
*6 each in Crook and Curry counties
*5 each in Harney and Lake counties
*4 in Baker County
*3 in Grant County
*2 in Clatsop County
*1 each in Lincoln and Morrow counties
The new deaths ranged in age from 30 to 94. 8 lived in Jackson County. 6 lived in Multnomah County. 1 each lived in Wasco, Lane, Clackamas, Washington, Malheur and Grant counties.
OHA said the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Oregon increased to 414 Thursday, marking a new record for the pandemic.
