SENATE REPUBLICANS CALL OUT GOVERNOR FOR OUTREACH

November 18, 2020 3:45 a.m.

On Tuesday, Oregon Senate Republicans called out Governor Kate Brown for what they called “…her continued COVID-19 government overreach and the subsequent destruction of Oregonians livelihoods”.

A letter sent to Governor Brown said the latest freeze is “hypocritical”. It said the people who are most likely to suffer from COVID-19, the elderly, “…have been ignored during the political pandemic, while all other citizens have been forced to endure months of government overreach and watch their normal lives disappear”.

The letter said Oregonians cannot look to the government for assistance because thousands have still not received unemployment insurance after the first shutdown.

The letter concluded telling Governor Brown, “It’s time to end your political posturing at the expense of Oregonians and reopen the state”.
