A Roseburg man was jailed following an alleged assault incident on Monday.

A report from Roseburg Police said at about 11:30 a.m. the victim reported that Clinton Theall had assaulted her and strangled her over a 24-hour period in the 2300 block of Carolyn Court. The report said the victim’s injuries were consistent with her statement. Theall was later contacted during a traffic stop and was taken into custody.

Theall admitted to arguing with the victim, but denied physical contact. The suspect reportedly had a user amount of heroin in his possession. Theall was charged with strangulation, unlawful possession of heroin, menacing and for a parole violation. He was detained without bail.
