MAN JAILED FOR ONLINE CHILD SEX CRIMES

A Douglas County resident has been jailed for online sex crime charges.

Captain Kurt Sorenson of Sutherlin Police said Monday morning at 6:00 a.m. 32-year old Seth Drew was detained. Sorenson said charges include first and second degree counts of online sexual corruption of a child, luring a minor and for unlawful possession of a firearm.

Sorensen said due to the nature and sensitivity of the crimes committed and the on-going investigation, SPD is unable to release information regarding the case.

Sorenson said parents are strongly encouraged to monitor their children’s use of smart phones, tablets, and other devices used to access the internet and social media apps.

Bail for Drew was set at $206,250.
