19 MORE PEOPLE HAVE RECEIVED POSITIVE TEST RESULTS, 1 NEW PRESUMPTIVE CASE OF COVID-19

19 more people have received positive test results, and there is 1 new presumptive case of COVID-19 in Douglas County, as of Saturday.

An update from the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team said the total number of cases is now at 613. Of those, 552 are people that have received positive test results and 51 are presumptive. There have been 10 deaths. 174 people are in isolation. 489 people are in quarantine. That means the staff with the Douglas Public Health Network is supporting 663 people that are in either isolation or quarantine. 17,239 people have tested negative for COVID-19 in the county.

For the week ending Saturday, 148 new positive cases were reported, shattering the record from the previous week. In the past two weeks, 215 positive cases have been reported. That is more than the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the first 198 days of the pandemic. The update said before this week, the highest daily total of hospitalized COVID-19 patients was 8. Saturday a record 20 patients are hospitalized for COVID-19 locally.

The next drive through testing clinic with the Douglas Public Health Network will be Tuesday in Roseburg.
