PLANNED POWER OUTAGE STARTING SATURDAY NIGHT

November 13, 2020 11:20 a.m.

Douglas Electric Cooperative is preparing for a planned power outage starting at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night.

Todd Munsey from the utility said their power supplier, the Bonneville Power Administration, will be replacing some equipment at their Drain substation. Approximately 1,100 members of the cooperative who live in the Elkton, Scottsburg, Loon Lake and Ash Valley areas, will be without power until 4:00 a.m. Sunday. Munsey said this will affect members west of the Elkton tunnel, but will not include residents served by the City of Drain.

Munsey said members, particularly those with medical conditions, should make necessary preparations.
