A Roseburg home was damaged in an attic fire on Thursday night.

Fire Marshal Monte Bryan of the Roseburg Fire Department said just before 9:30 p.m. RFD personnel responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 300 block of Southeast Ella Street. Initial reports said the home was filling with smoke which was believed to be coming from the attic.

Bryan said firefighters arrived to find smoke showing from the attic of the tri-plex. All occupants were already out of the home. The attic fire was extinguished and crews conducted extensive overhaul. Bryan said the fire displaced five adults, five cats and one dog. Staff from the American Red Cross came to the scene to assist the residents.

Bryan said the cause of the fire is unknown. A number of other agencies assisted the Roseburg Fire Department.
