Some students at Umpqua Valley Christian School are impacted after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

An email sent to UVC parents by Superintendent George Graham said on Thursday and Friday this week, the only classes on campus will be preschools, kindergarten and first grade.

Graham said the staff member hasn’t been on campus since November 6th but was considered to be contagious on November 4th. He said the quarantine period is 14 days from the last contact with the staff member.

The email said teachers and staff will be on campus Thursday, preparing lessons to be picked up after 12:00 p.m. on Friday.

Monday through Friday November 16th through the 20th, preschool through 4th grade will be in class, as will most of the fifth-grade students.

Graham’s email said those in quarantine include some fourth and fifth grade students, all sixth graders and their teacher, and all students in both 3rd period and 7th period study hall.

Graham said students in grades 7-12 will be in distance learning through the 20th.
