A Roseburg man was hospitalized after the vehicle he was driving rear ended a semi-truck on Wednesday morning.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 5:50 a.m. a deputy was sent to a motor vehicle accident at the corner of Highway 99 North and Rogers Road north of Winchester. A deputy found a small car had hit the trailer portion of a semi and was stuck underneath it. It caught on fire and was fully involved. The motorist was removed from the vehicle and said he didn’t see the semi which was making a right turn from a business. The semi driver said he was attempting to turn and park his vehicle. He saw lights in the distance and thought he had time to make the turn.
