MAN JAILED ON STOLEN VEHICLE, DRUG CHARGES

A Roseburg man was jailed by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on stolen vehicle and drug charges.

A report from DCSO said Monday at about 2:00 p.m. a deputy saw a pickup parked at a gas station on Bear Creek Road in the Curtin area, and learned that it had been stolen out of Eugene. 20-year old Jace Surgeon was contacted while he was sleeping in the vehicle, and was taken into custody. The report said the man admitted to taking the pickup for transportation. He was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine as well.

Surgeon was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and for unlawful possession of meth. Bail was set at $100,000.
