MAN JAILED FOLLOWING DISTURBANCE

A Green area man was jailed after a disturbance on Thursday morning.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 11:50 a.m. 40-year old Ryan Myrvang was contacted in the 100 block of Rex Street after calling dispatch and acting as if he was having a mental health issue. The report said the man’s father also called reporting the episode and a disturbance could be heard in the background.

While law enforcement was on the scene, the suspect allegedly grabbed a large rock and threatened a Winston Police officer. The man was tased and ultimately taken into custody.

The report said two deputies sustained minor injuries. Ryan was cleared on the scene by medical personnel and taken to jail. Once there, he reportedly continued to resist and fought with jail deputies, injuring one of them.

Ryan was charged with assaulting a public safety officer, menacing, resisting arrest, interfering with police and for disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $92,500.
