MAN JAILED AFTER INJURY ACCIDENT

A 33-year old man was jailed after an injury accident on Interstate Five on Monday night.

A report from Oregon State Police said just after 8:30 p.m. a pickup rear ended another vehicle traveling north in the Yoncalla area. The report said the pickup continued north until it eventually stopped, due to damage to the vehicle. The driver fled north along the freeway.

The man was eventually located walking in the southbound lanes of traffic, threatening to kill himself with a knife. The suspect was persuaded to put the knife down and comply. He was taken into custody. The report said the driver exhibited signs of impairment and consented to a blood draw at Mercy Medical Center.

Brady Miller was charged with failure to perform the duties of a driver to injured persons, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, and for DUII. Bail was set at $122,500.
