In the KQEN Business Spotlight:
Terrain Tamers picked up an award at the recent Fleet Safety Awards dinner of the Oregon Trucking Association.
The Dillard based company took third place for the Truckload 3-4 million miles category. In addition, Christie Wuerst was named Safety Professional of the Year for a small fleet.
An OTA release said each year the organization and the Safety Management Council seek out Oregon’s top safety performers, both individuals and teams. Nominees were categorized by fleet type and size to ensure a fair representation of the type of companies that make up Oregon’s trucking industry. The release said winners are selected based on a number of factors including their contributions to safety within their own company, playing a critical role in safety within the industry at large, and their organization’s accident-free record in relation to the number of miles traveled.
All 2020 Safety Award winners can be found at: https://www.ortrucking.org/2020-event-recap. The only exception is the overall Grand Champion which will be announced next month in Bend.
