A transient man was jailed on burglary charges on Saturday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 11:45 a.m. 28-year old Jerod Coty was allegedly caught inside a residence in the 100 block of Woodpecker Lane in Scottsburg. The homeowner was contacted and wanted to pursue charges.

Coty was charged with first degree counts of burglary and criminal trespass, and third-degree counts of criminal mischief and theft. He was detained on $257,500 bail.
