MAN JAILED IN MENACING INCIDENT

A Roseburg man was jailed in an alleged menacing incident on Saturday morning.

Information from Roseburg Police said just after 11:30 a.m. officers responded to an apartment in the 700 block of Southeast Jackson for a disturbance that was reportedly physical. The report said 31-year old Christopher Woods allegedly became irate. While police were interviewing the victim, Woods reportedly grabbed a knife form inside the apartment and asked officers to shoot him. He eventually threw the knife down and was arrested without further incident.

The report said Woods had allegedly menaced the victim by following her around with the knife while she was on the phone with dispatch. He also reportedly pushed her, causing slight pain to her leg. The report said that once placed in the patrol vehicle, the suspect kicked the door so hard to he bent the entire door. He also allegedly continued to fight with deputies at corrections.

Charges include menacing, first degree criminal mischief, second degree disorderly conduct and for harassment. Bail was set at $61,250.
