A Roseburg man was jailed following an alleged strangulation incident on Sunday.
A report from Roseburg Police said just after 10:00 a.m. 29-year old Jerry Guenther was reportedly observed restraining a female victim outside a residence in the 1,000 block of Fullerton. The report said the suspect was pulling the victim’s arms behind her along the sidewalk. Several neighbors called police and confronted Guenther, so he let the victim go.
The victim told police that the suspect choked her in front of a juvenile inside the home, so she was trying to leave. She said the man put her in a headlock, causing her not be to be able to breath.
Charges included strangulation, harassment and second-degree disorderly conduct. Bail was initially set at $60,000
