Staff with the Federal Emergency Management Agency continue to help those impacted by the wildfires in Oregon.
So far, FEMA has received disaster assistance applications from over 16,350 individuals. A release said it has awarded over $18 million to eligible survivors of the fires. 25 housing inspectors have completed over 5,000 inspections.
The deadline to apply for Disaster Unemployment Assistance is October 23rd. The release said Voluntary Agency Liaisons are meeting with local officials and emergency managers in Douglas, Jackson and Lane counties for long-term recovery needs.
Disaster Survivor Assistance teams are working to help survivors apply for assistance and answer program questions. The teams are available Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6;00 p.m. at the Glide Middle School.
