Tuesday is the deadline to be registered to vote in the November General Election.
Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said voters can change their address or party preference by going to www.oregonvotes.gov/myvote or by coming into the Clerk’s Office at the courthouse. Those displaced by the recent wildfires can use either option to register a temporary mailing address.
Ballots will be mailed on Thursday. They are due back by Tuesday November 3rd at 8:00 p.m. Loomis said those planning to mail their ballot back should allow plenty of time for it to be returned to the courthouse as postmarks do not count. Ballots can be mailed in without using a stamp. They can also be taken to drop box sites around the county. A list of those locations is posted with this story at www.541radio.com: https://www.co.douglas.or.us/clerk/drop_site_locations.asp
