The Roseburg Public Library has implemented a hotspot program.
Library Director Kris Wiley said the purpose is to connect more community members to technology with the lending program which will continue until April of next year.
Wiley said patrons age 18 and older who have a Roseburg Public Library card in good standing, are invited to submit an application for one of the 37 hotspots by 8:00 p.m. on Thursday October 22nd. Library staff will select randomly from all submissions, and those picked will receive the device to borrow at no cost.
Wiley said when the program ends, the user can return the hotspot to the library or they may keep it and initiate a contract with a provider to continue service at their cost.
Applications are available at www.roseburgpubliclibrary.org, on the library’s Facebook page, or at the main desk of the library.
The program is made possible through CARES Act funding provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the State Library of Oregon.
