WOMAN JAILED FRIDAY, IN CONNECTION WITH RECENT ESCAPE

A woman was jailed Friday, and charged in connection with a recent alleged escape.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said on the afternoon of September 30th, 54-year old Holly Sigmund was the passenger in a vehicle near Sparrow Park and Highway 101, north of Gardiner. The report said the deputy knew there was a warrant for the woman’s arrest. When the deputy attempted to detain the suspect, she refused to comply, crossed the road and took off running off the west side of the highway. Deputies were not able to locate Sigmund.

Friday night the woman was arrested in an unrelated traffic stop and taken into custody.

Charges included escape, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, menacing and for unlawful use of a weapon. Bail was set at $116,250.
